Individual Therapy

Therapy offers a space to reflect and better understand feelings and become more conscious of behavior. We will identify what is getting in your way and work together to understand the roots of the issue, relevant context and history, and introduce new coping strategies that will lead to positive growth and change.  Therapy can be short or long-term depending on the individual’s circumstances and preferences.

Couples Therapy

Therapy can help any couple grow and strengthen their relationship.  Couples come to therapy for a variety of reasons- some couples seek therapy when they feel stuck around a specific problem (communication issues, emotional distance, substance abuse, infidelity, illness, sex, are a few examples) or are feeling unfulfilled in their relationship.  Others seek therapy in response to a life transition such as having a child or becoming empty nesters, a move, or a loss.

I often help couples identify old patterns of behavior or relating that may no longer be serving them and help build new ways of connecting.  I will help you feel seen and heard in your relationship and help you move to a place of greater understanding and fulfillment.

Family Therapy

Family therapy is a way of treating problems and issues that arise by working with the entire family rather than just an individual.  A problem in one relationship or part of the family impacts the entire family.   Carl Whitaker, a pioneer in the field of family therapy said, “there are no individuals in the world only fragments of families”.   

In our work together, we will strengthen the family and thereby strengthen the individual parts of the family as well.
